A district supervisor for the SWCD is elected to represent the citizens of the county in carrying out a good resource management program.  The job of a supervisor is to:

bullet

Meet at least monthly as a board , usually held the second Wednesday of
each month, and participate in district activities

bullet

Establish sound policies and priorities concerning the work to be accomplished

bullet

Hire employees to carry out the daily work load of the District

bullet

The Van Wert SWCD plays a vital role in the agriculture community.  It demands the attention and leadership abilities of the supervisor.  Although this is an unpaid position, the reward is the satisfaction of making a valuable contribution to the future welfare of the district, state, and nation.
